DeCyder™ 2D V6.5 patch III

This patch for the DeCyder 2D V6.5 software from GE Healthcare can be downloaded free of charge for anyone that has a valid e-license for DeCyder 2D V6.5.

The patch III installation can only be installed on machines where a previous version of DeCyder 2D V6.5 is already installed.

The version number of DeCyder 2D V6.5 patch III is 6.5.15.2.

For configurations where multiple DeCyder 2D application terminals connect to the same DeCyder 2D database server on a network all application terminals should be upgraded to patch III.

Software Change Description

Brief summary of what differs in patch III compared to previous version.

Improvements:

• In BVA, the standard log abundance values that by default are plotted on the y-axis in the graph view are also included in a new column in the appearance table named “Std Log Abund.”.

• In BVA, the remove spot map function has been replaced by a corresponding remove gel function.

• In BVA, a slight modification to how landmarks are handled in the matching algorithm has been made. This usually results in slightly more consistent matching behavior when gels are re-matched, particularly in areas where manual modifications (Add/break match) have been made.

Corrections:

• In BVA, the positions of annotation labels in the gel views that have been manually moved are now saved with the rest of the workspace data.

• In BVA, paired t-test is now calculated as a paired and not an un-paired test.

• In BVA, an ongoing match operation can now be properly stopped and re-started.

• In EDA, the handling of interpretation queries containing protein ID’s that can not be found in the on line protein information database has been improved.

Download and Patch Installation Instructions

This patch can be installed on DeCyder 2D 6.5 or DeCyder 2D 6.5 updated to patch I or II.

1. Download

1.1. Click on the Download Patch link below.

1.2. Select to save the file to your local hard drive.

1.3. When download is complete, select Run.

1.4. Select the location where to extract the installation files. Remember the location of the extracted files as documentation related to this patch can be found here, for example Software Change Description and Patch Installation Instructions.

In order to proceed directly to the installation page, make sure the "Run after extraction: index.htm" checkbox is checked.

1.5. Select "Extract" and the files are extracted to the selected location.

2. Patch Installation

2.1. When the extraction is complete select to open the file "index.htm".

If a prompt to open "index.htm" is not displayed after the extraction is complete, open "index.htm" from the location where the installation files are extracted in step 1.4 above. What the index.htm file looks like is shown in the figure further down on this page.

2.2. Determining what to install.

Select the appropriate patch installation procedure depending on your current DeCyder 2D version (6.5, 6.5 + patch I or 6.5+patch II) and type of installation (Standalone, Application terminal or Database server) according to the table below.

Note that if DeCyder 2D 6.5 patch II is installed on your computer, only Program Patch III should be installed.

** As a safety precaution before installation of the Database patch II, perform a full backup of the database according to the instructions in DeCyder 2D Software, Version 6.5 User Manual, page 219.

For configurations where multiple DeCyder 2D application terminals connect to the same DeCyder 2D database server on a network all client application terminals should be upgraded to patch III.

Note! Do not install any of the previous DeCyder 2D versions on a patch III installation!

3. Installation of DeCyder 2D 6.5 Program Patch III

3.1. Click on button DeCyder 2D 6.5 Program Patch III

3.2. Follow the instructions given during the installation. For details, see installation of DeCyder 2D 6.5 Program in the Installation Guide.

4. Installation of DeCyder 2D 6.5 Database Patch II

Note! If you already have installed DeCyder 2D 6.5 Patch II there is no need to install it again.

Proceed to instructions for Installation of DeCyder 2D 6.5 Database Patch II.

5. Repeat the installation procedure on all computers where DeCyder 2D V6.5 is installed.
